How to Run Live Update on Norton. LiveUpdate is an application provided by Norton to keep its antivirus software up to date. The application installs security updates and software patches. Security updates may include Norton's anti-spyware and firewall software. LiveUpdate is only available for Home and Home Office versions of Norton. The product is available for both Mac and Windows-based computers. Although LiveUpdate checks for updates automatically, you may run it at any time.

Instructions
Method One

1. Download and install Norton on the computer. Follow the program's installation prompts to correctly install the software.

2. Restart the computer when prompted to do so by the installer.

3. Double-click the Norton icon in the system tray.

4. Click "Run LiveUpdate" in the bottom left-hand corner of the program's home screen.

5. Wait for LiveUpdate to check for and install updates, then click "Close."

6. Restart the computer if you are prompted to do so by the program.

Method Two

1. Download and install Norton on the computer. Follow the program's installation prompts to correctly install the software.
