Turn Off System Restore for Free Virus Removal. the first thing we're gonna need to do is turn off the System Restore and that is to stop viruses lurking in you System Restore section and then coming back to haunt you later on, so we go ahead and click Start and go to Settings --> Control Panel --> System, and we're gonna go to the System Restore tab.
And then you can see here, at the top, there is a check box, we're gonna click that so the tick disappears and then we're gonna press Apply. Now your system may hang for a minute, or even several minutes, depending on how old or how fast your system is, while the computer applies that change.
